Where’d all that money go? $37 million went to satellite dish companies. $7.5 million lined the pockets of Michigan’s oil barons, people with oil wells that generate seven-figure revenues annually. International phone calls are exempt, too, draining $18 million from the state’s coffers.We subsidized corporate polluters to the tune of $55 million, giving our hard-earned tax dollars away to the companies dumping their waste across our state. The tobacco companies selling harmful products netted $17.7 million, and vending machine companies stocking the food that makes us obese made off with $25 million.Enough. No more loopholes that drain our future, stymieing education funding and public safety and stopping the desperately needed investments in communities.
